What a crazy month eh? Over the past month life has changed for every one of us - including for teenagers. Besides all of a sudden becoming homeschooled one of the biggest changes is the social separation from friends and community outside of one's house. Well at Collide, community is our middle name! That's why, starting this Friday, we will be having online Life Groups via Zoom, every week until the quarantine ends!
What is Zoom? ⁃ Zoom is a video conferencing app designed for big groups. ⁃ Zoom is free and it's useable with or without an account. ⁃ Download the app before hand (Mobile Version OR Computer/Laptop Version) Why Zoom? ⁃ As opposed to other video apps (FaceTime, Google Hangouts, etc.) Zoom works on every platform instantly. ⁃ Students can join in from their laptop, smart phone, home desktop, or tablet. ⁃ Zoom is secure; all of your student's data is safe and won’t be sold or shared with other companies.
How will my Student access their Zoom Life group? ⁃ Collide life group leaders will send the link for their Zoom meeting to students and parents. ⁃ Our life group leaders have contact info for you and your student when you filled out a student profile. ⁃ If your student has not filled out a student profile another option is to sign your student up for a Zoom group using this link. What will happen in Zoom Life Group? ⁃ Just like our regular groups Zoom groups are primarily about relationships. ⁃ We do this by sharing Highs & Lows from the week, discussing topics presented in the weekly video message, and just having fun together! ⁃ Some groups will play games together, others will just chat. It’s all about relationships. Life Groups are the heartbeat of Oasis for all age groups, including Collide, and if we can’t meet together to worship or hear teaching in person, we will do whatever we can to meet together as a community. Socially isolated doesn’t mean relationally isolated; we’re all in this together. We hope your student can join their Life Group on Zoom this week! -Darryl
